With such a wide variety of products, Yamaha was able to focus its efforts on musical instruments with the opening of the Yamaha Corporation of America in the 1960s, where guitars, keyboards, drums and synthesizers and more have been continually pushed to be top of the line musical instruments.

With their expansive guitar production, Yamaha moved to introduce the RBX Bass Series Bass Guitars, which are offered in 4 string bass and 5 string bass as well as models that are fretted bass and fretless bass, with left handed bass options available as well. Even a six string bass is available that is endorsed by John Myung, bassist of Dream Theater.

Yamaha bass guitars are well made bass guitars and are typically some of the more affordable bass guitars on the market, making them great entry level bass guitars, but don’t let that steer you away from Yamaha bass guitars if you are a professional bass player. Not only is the Yamaha bass guitar used in Dream Theater but the bassist from Phil Collins and Eric Clapton also use these terrific bass guitars.

Some well known bassists use Yamaha Bass guitars including:

John Myung of Dream Theater
Nathan East of Eric Clapton and Phil Collins Bands.
John Patitucci of Chick Corea’s legendary Electric Band
Tony Kanal
Billy Sheehan
Jack Gibson
Peter Hook
Robbie Takac
Glenn Hughes
