Roland TD25KV Review

Editor's scoreRead review

Bottom Line – While 2-4k for an electronic might seem expensive, the truth is, the quality rivals some of the drumsets that cost twice the amount.  With the ability to use this electronic drum kit in studio and live settings, this electronic drumset is worth every penny.

Roland TD25KV Electronic Drum KitFrequently Asked Questions

Does it come with a hihat stand?

For the most part it does not come with a hihat stand.  There are some bundles occasionally available that include the hihat stand and kick pedal, but unless it explicitly states that that hihat stand is included, it’s safe to assume that you will need to buy that separately.

Does it come with a kick pedal?

No it does not.  Most drum sets do not unless they explicitly say otherwise.  There are a few bundle options we linked to that do include everything, but be sure to check the included list even on the bundles to make sure you are getting what you need.

Adam’s Take

The Roland TD25kv series electronic drumsets are some of my favorite electronic drumsets available today.  While they may be expensive compared to the beginner electronic drumsets, they are very reasonably priced when compared to high end professional electronic drumset models.  The mesh kits offered by the Roland Electronic drumsets are fun to play and have a realistic feels that in some ways are even more enjoyable to play than acoustic drumsets, which inspires practice and leads to better drumming.  The full sized kick drum and hi hat mounts offered with the Roland td25kvsx is road and studio ready for the professional drummer.

+ Positives:
  • - Can customize your tones
  • - Mesh heads are a dream to play
  • - Amazing sound bank
  • - Choke control on cymbals
  • - Natural swing motion in cymbals
- Negatives:
  • - Rack is not ideal for tall people
  • - Can get pricey for some
