Adam’s Take

Takamine pro series guitars are all pretty impressive, but there is something I particularly think stands out with the Takamine EF341SC.  This guitar has a really big sounds that can really rock for an acoustic guitar.

The tone is warm and impressive and can stand toe to toe with almost any acoustic guitar out there, including some Martin acoustics that I’ve played.  The ability to capture the tone when you plug it in is equally impressive with its above average electronics and handy 3 band EQ and built in chromatic tuner.  The palathetic pickup is beyond accurate and allows for professional musicians to use this guitar live and in the studio and get exactly what you would want out of a great acoustic guitar.

+ Positives:
  • The tones translate from acoustic to electric in almost a perfect way, if there can be one
  • The cost is great considering this can go on tour or in the studio with any professional musician
  • It's the kind of guitar that can make the player sound better, even if the player is already great
- Negatives:
  • I would like to see this guitar in more finishes but that's not really a con
